Suffering Update

I tried to post a fun, easy entry yesterday. I even did a video and it's ready to be posted, just waiting for me to click "Publish Post." But I'm not ready to move on. There are bigger issues I need to address first!

I listened to a sermon on John Piper about suffering. I even read a magazine from a missions organization on suffering and the main idea is this: God's ultimate goal for suffering is to demonstrate the glory of the grace of God.

In my own life and for those of people pursuing the cross, I can totally understand! I am called to suffer (matthew 10:16-25, Luke 21:16, John 15:20, Phillipians 1:29, 2 tim 1:8-9, 1 Peter 2: 18-25, 1 peter 4:1-2). But I'm still grappling with the idea that the innocent have to suffer in masses.

Perhaps this is something that I will have to study and learn from the Word for a long time. But already I'm growing in my faith. As I pray for the sexually slaved women and children of Calcutta, the hungry and dying victims in Haiti, the broken people of Philadelphia, God leads me to mourn for them. Though I do not understand why they suffer, I know that God loves them and his heart also breaks for them.

So for tonight, that will have to do so I can sleep.

An inspirational organization. Check it out and pray for them!
