Today we had another marathon of orientation lectures, one of which included confidentiality in cyberspace. Guys, I am a blogger! This blog lives off of my daily experiences, which is a problem since I'll be immersed in experiences from the hospital for the next two years. I have made an oath to protect my patients and do the best darn job I can to help them. As such, I am prohibiting myself from posting any patient information on this blog. I desperately want to tell you stories of the field, but it is so unprofessional and unfair to patients. So, I'll have to regale you all with stories about all other aspects of my life.
So...a different story that has nothing to do with medicine.
Burton and I went swimming in our condo's communal swimming pool the other day and on the way out we saw a futon + 2 arm chairs that had been tossed out into our building dumpster. We inspected the furniture and found that it was less than 2 years old! One neighbor told us that the owner had tried to sell the items for a couple days but after no one had bought them, they just dumped them and left. The tenant must have been in a rush to get out of here and left them at the dumpster praying, hoping that they would find a wonderful home. Right? So we dragged them into our house and rearranged our whole house! You would be amazed at what you can accomplish in a one-bedroom apartment.
Come to think of it, God has really blessed Burton and myself with free furniture. We really didn't start off with much since this would be a temporary home. We had a small sofa, a dining table, and a bed. But we picked up things here and there as people moved and left all their furniture. Things that are much nicer than Burton and I would have ever bought at Ikea! That is providence, for sure!
I know these aren't huge events or boons, but still I believe that God provides abundantly when we are in need. So praise God for free furniture!
One more unrelated thing! I'm listening to the Ihop streaming video and there is a 11 year old leading prayer! Holy smokes! That is awesome!
