Post-Halloween

For those of you who know me, you know that I dread Halloween every year.  Let me preface by saying that I had nightmares about the Sixth Sense for more than six months.  I watched the Ring in high school, and  I still wake up in the middle of the night a decade later, in panic, thinking a ghastly hairy girl in a dirty nightgown is going to swallow my soul.  ::shudder::  That alongside the nasty white face paint and disgusting smell of aerosolized paints/hair color/silly string.  Bluh.  I could throw up just thinking about that smell.  It's a strange idiosyncrasy, I know.

But.  There is one thing I do like about Halloween.  That it goes by every year and November 1 comes around.  With its discounted candy.  MY FAVORITE!  Although I do also enjoy the day after Easter for the same reason, albeit it pales in comparison to the greatest gift of life which is Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior who saved my soul for all eternity.  <--purposeful run-on

So today I went to Target with a mission.  To find my favorite candy for a heavily discounted price.  To my surprise, candy was not the only thing I found.  Actually, I did not buy any candy while I was there but left with two boxes of healthy snacks (50% off...eep!).  Turns out, healthy moms choose healthy snacks not just for their kids but also for the neighborhood.  That's some good public health work they are doing for their community!

Anyways, I found a giant box of Pirate's Booty containing 24 packets, measuring about 2x1x1. Big box.  As I was checking out, the lady asked if I wanted a giant bag for my giant box.  No thanks, but a sticker on it marking that I paid for it would be nice.  And she responds, "We don't do stickers.  You can walk out with the box.  This ain't no Walmart."

=)

And to end this blog post...here's a famous quote from Google images

"To err is human, to arr is pirate"
