The day I found out that I passed my boards, I went to CPK in the outskirts of Philly with Burton. After lunch, we went to Starbucks where I saw a bunch of Asians dressed in funny silver jackets and cheap plastic sunglasses that looked ridiculous. I had no clue who they were so I figured they were a bunch of Asian dudes trying too hard. But Burton said, "I think those guys are Far East Movement." I encouraged him to say something, but Burton was already walking out the door. I decided that I would take opportunity of the moment. I tapped one of the guys on the shoulder and asked if they performed in ISA (International Secret Agents...it's an Asian YT thing), and he responded yes. Then all the rest of the guys chimed into the convo and each one shook my hand, introduced himself and asked me about my name, where I was from and what I was doing here in Philly. "Oh yeah, we know Diamond Bar," they related. Honestly, I was shocked at how nice they were and how much they were interested in getting to know Burton and me. Maybe they were excited that someone recognized them, because nobody had said anything to them prior to us. They were performing on South Street in Philly, they said. As we were leaving, I yelled to them, "Don't each too much or else you'll throw up!" I still had no clue who they were and thought they were a group of dancers. Why they were shoving their faces with muffins, I did not understand. Turns out, they were in Philly promoting their new album and song, Like a G6. They are friggin' rappers and I told them not to throw up. High five Candice, that was smooth. As you can imagine, Burton was shaking his head as we walked out.
Here's proof that we met them! Incompetent record rep lady took a blurry picture!
And here's their song, Like a G6.
cool story! Is making the "a-ok" sign the new cool thing to do? ha.
