Lately, I've been struggling with disappointment in people. Before you try to smack me off my high horse, think about it! How many times have people disappointed you? How many times have you expected someone to be there for you, and that person never showed up? Or how many times did you think highly of someone, and then that same person did a stupid? That's how I'm feeling now!
I know that humans are bound to disappoint because nobody is perfect and only Jesus can fulfill perfect standards. However, I've been challenged to live a radical, all-out-for-Jesus, die-to-the-cross kind of life recently. And for some reason, I expect everyone to have that crazy attitude. And you know what? That's crazy.
As I spend time in prayer and reflection, God just answers me that He is. It's an answer that I do not expect, but the more I stew on it, the more peace I have in my heart. And boy, do I need that desperately. God is who He is and doesn't need to say anything else.
However, it is always comforting to know that others also want Jesus with a punch-drunk-out-of-this-world passion. And such was the case with me and Owl City. Burton shared this link with me, and I am humbled by this man's openness in sharing his faith. And so, in his footsteps, I have also shared with all of you.

thank you for being raw and rare, Candice =)
ReplyDeleteI make you sound like a steak ahahaah but I mean to say, thank you for being honest because I too get discouraged and tired and weary but when I find Christians who are radical and rare it encourages me to follow them following Jesus <3
Such an encouraging post. See you soon. :)
