ROS

I've been going to the hospital to practice doing a history and physical on patients. And I can't say much because it's against regulations, but I can tell you part of the story:

My partner and I were seeing an elderly patient who was the sweetest woman ever. She insisted that we be thorough with every part of the interview/physical so we could learn to be good doctors. That's the best kind of patient. We were asking her a sleu of questions as part of the Review of Systems (ROS)...and we asked if she had any bleeding from her nose. We usually ask this for complications or for indications of any trauma, infections, weird stuff going on. And she said no. Then paused. And she said, "Actually, I do pick my nose and then my nose bleeds."

I tried SOO hard not to laugh because she was just so honest with us!

Happy spring picking!
